Staff Reporter: Police have recovered the body of a Bangladeshi college student 13 days after he went missing from New York, USA. Angered by his parents, Ashfaqul Islam Tripti (18), left the Elmhurst home in Jackson Heights on September 13 and never returned. Police recovered his body from the Hudson River in New York City last Saturday. Tripti has committed suicide, police said.
It is known that Tripti came to the United States with her parents in 2010. After graduating successfully from high school, he was admitted to New York University last August. But the class did not start because of the epidemic. Ashfaqul Islam Tripti lived with his mother Ashura Begum and father Ariful Islam Tuhin in Elmhurst near Jackson Heights in New York City, inhabited by Bangladeshis. Their country home is in Barisal Sadar. Tripti’s father Ariful Islam Tuhin is the joint secretary of the New York Metropolitan BNP.
Satisfied parents had long hoped to buy a house in America. He was trying to buy a house in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with the intention of fulfilling that dream. Their only child was dissatisfied with this. At one stage of the argument with the parents on September 13, Satisfaction left the house. If Tripti did not return home within three days, the family lodged a complaint with the police. Finally, on September 26, New York police informed them that a body had been recovered from the Hudson River. Whether it is their son. A picture of the body was also sent at that time. Seeing that, mother and father broke down. Although Tripti’s body was rescued from the river on September 15, her parents found her son’s body 10 days later.
Meanwhile, Janaza with Ashfaqul Islam Satisfaction Prayers was held at the Jackson Heights Mosque last Monday (September 26). His body was then buried in a Muslim cemetery in New Jersey.
