450,000 students to receive free school uniforms by July: Education Minister

Bangla Press Desk: Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon said that the government is working sincerely to solve all kinds of problems in the education sector with the aim of making education enjoyable.
He said, "Free school uniforms will be distributed among 450,000 primary school students by the month of July. In addition, all primary school students will soon be given 'mid-day meal'."
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the verification workshop on 'Bangladesh Education Sector Analysis (ESA) 2026' organized by UNICEF at a hotel in the capital on Sunday (June 14).
The Education Minister said, "We want students to develop good citizenship and moral values from the primary stage. For this purpose, various important subjects including sports, culture, morality, religious values have been included in the primary education curriculum from the fourth grade."
Emphasizing on transforming the country's huge manpower into wealth, Dr. Ehsanul Haque Milon said that Bangladesh should fully utilize the benefits of its 'demographic dividend' and develop the country's large population into skilled human resources. To achieve this goal, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is working to build the 'future Bangladesh' by giving top priority to the education sector.
The workshop was attended by State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj, Secretary of the Technical and Madrasa Education Department Md. Daud Mia and Executive Director of the Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE) Rasheda K Chowdhury, UNICEF Bangladesh Representative Rana Flowers, Deputy Development Director of the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office of the British High Commission Martin Dawson and Minister Counselor of the European Union Delegation to Bangladesh Michael Kreja. Senior officials of government and private departments related to education and representatives of development partners were present at the workshop.
