Expatriates’ Welfare Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury
Staff Reporter: Bangladesh’s Minister of Labour and Employment and Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, Ariful Haque Chowdhury, is scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles, United States, on Saturday, August 29, to attend the 40th FOBANA Convention.
He will attend as the chief guest at the 40th convention of the Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA), one of the largest organizations representing Bangladeshis in North America. The convention will be held from September 4–6 at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City in California.
FOBANA Executive Committee Chairperson Rabiul Karim Belal and Executive Secretary Khaled Ahmed Rouf confirmed the minister’s participation.
Dr. Zainal Abedin, Convener of the 40th FOBANA Convention, said preparations for the three-day event, scheduled for Labor Day weekend, are nearly complete. This year’s convention is being hosted by the Bangladesh Association of California (BAC).
More than 100 members of various subcommittees, along with leaders of the host organization and the FOBANA Executive Committee, have been working around the clock to ensure the success of the convention.
Dr. Abedin said the organizers selected the venue with the goal of making the 40th convention a memorable milestone in FOBANA’s history. Universal City is one of the Los Angeles area’s major entertainment destinations, attracting visitors from around the world and offering a unique combination of entertainment, modern attractions, and cultural experiences.
Convention guests and visitors will also have the opportunity to explore Universal Studios Hollywood, including its renowned Studio Tour, the magical world of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and the thrilling Fast & Furious attractions.
Leaders of the host organization and the FOBANA Executive Committee have invited Bangladeshi expatriates and lovers of Bengali culture to attend the 40th FOBANA Convention at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City from September 4–6.
