BanglaPress Desk: Member of Parliament Ishraq Hossain has been appointed as the President of the ad-hoc committee for the Bangladesh Martial Arts Confederation, with Mahfuz Hasan serving as the General Secretary. The National Sports Council (NSC) has directed that an election be held within the next three months, after which responsibilities are to be handed over to the newly elected committee.
The new ad-hoc committee was announced on Tuesday (November 3) through an order signed by Md. Daulatuzzaman Khan, Executive Director of the National Sports Council. The committee’s operations will commence from the date the order—issued with the approval of the relevant authorities—was signed.
The order states that the previous ad-hoc committee was dissolved due to its failure to properly fulfill its mandate: organizing an election and transferring responsibilities to an elected committee, in accordance with the constitution of the Bangladesh Martial Arts Confederation. This decision was made under the authority vested in the Chairman of the National Sports Council, pursuant to Section 21 (including the 2026 amendment) and Sections 2(4) and 2(8) of the National Sports Council Act, 2018. The new committee has been formed in compliance with Section 14(3) of the same Act.

Abdul Halim, CEO of the Mallick Group; sports organizer Mohammad Tarikul Alam; prominent industrialist and sports organizer Md. Shahidul Islam; and sports organizer Shahed Wahed Ali.
General Secretary Mahfuz Hasan is a gold medalist in national Sando and Chorus competitions, as well as an official judge and organizer. Sports organizers Md. Shahadat Hossain Khan and Sayeed Md. Alvi have been appointed as Joint Secretaries. The position of Treasurer has been assigned to Md. Habibullah Parvez, Chairman of RBFC Fight Promotions and Managing Director of Champion Edge Limited.
The members of the committee include Advocate Md. Taifur Rahman (Suman), Md. Babul Ahmed Rubel, and others. Mohiuddin, Taslima Chowdhury Rita, Parveen Akter, Amirul Islam, Hasna Hena Happy, Md. Arif Hossain, Md. Selim Mahmud, Md. Nazmus Sakib, Nadim Mahmud, Manjur Hossain Badal, Jewel Rakshit, Md. Khairul Hasan, Md. Asrar Ahmed, Armanul Karim Abir, Hossain Ankur Andalib, and Md. Palash.
As per the directive of the National Sports Council, the new ad-hoc committee must complete the election process within three months from the date of the order. Following this, the committee must hand over responsibilities to the newly elected body.
