Journalist Rozina handed over to police for stealing documents

Bangla Press Desk: Rozina Islam, a senior reporter of Prothom Alo, was taken to Shahbagh Police Station after being detained at the Health Ministry for more than five hours. When she was taken to the police station after 8:30 pm, the on-duty police refused to say anything about it. Later, Sajjadur Rahman, deputy commissioner of DMP's Ramna division, said, "Rozina Islam has been handed over to Shahbagh police station from the secretariat." The Secretariat is in the process of filing a case in this regard. If there is a case, we will take legal action. ' Rozina Islam went to the Health Ministry of the Secretariat around 3:30 pm on Monday (May 17) to perform her professional duties. It was later reported that she was locked in a room by the officials there. Filing a case against Rozina Islam was under process while the report was filed. After being sieged in the room of Saiful Islam, the personal secretary of the health secretary, in the afternoon, Rozina Islam told her colleagues that she was waiting in the room of PS Saiful Islam to meet the secretary. At that time, he abused me by complaining about disappearance of documents. At one point a police constable was called who searched her body. She has been detained on charges staged against her. She did not take any documents. Later around 9:00 pm, Maidul Islam Prodhan, public relations officer (PRO) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, told reporters that journalist Rozina Islam entered the secretary’s PS room and took pictures of some important files on her mobile phone. Besides, she was taking some papers with her. After seeing that, an additional secretary and a member of police challenged her, saying she could not take it. Then after informing the police, a female cop came. A complaint has been filed against her and she has been taken to the police station.
