Legal notice sent to actress Tanzin Tisha over the circulation of objectionable photos
Bangla Press Desk: A legal notice has been served to actress Tanjin Tisha, accusing her of circulating objectionable images of fashion designer Sanaya Anam Wafiqah Chowdhury and spreading misinformation via her verified social media page.
The notice was issued on Wednesday (October 28) on behalf of Sanaya Anam by Advocate Shubhra Sinha Rony.
Confirming the development, Advocate Shubhra Sinha Rony stated, "If the images and misinformation are not removed within two days, a lawsuit will be filed against Tanjin Tisha."
The notice mentions that Sanaya Anam has already filed two separate cases against Tanjin Tisha—one at the CMM Court in Dhaka and another at the Executive Magistrate’s Court—both of which are currently ongoing. On Tuesday, the Facebook page titled "Tanjin Tisha" was used to disseminate objectionable images of Sanaya Anam along with false information. Furthermore, she has been providing inaccurate information to the country's media outlets.
The notice also alleges that on November 7 of last year, Tanjin Tisha sent a message to Sanaya Anam via Facebook Messenger, threatening to make her "go viral" by stating, "Let me know when you become famous; I’ll upload your photos." It is alleged that, following this, Tanjin Tisha has engaged in defaming Sanaya Anam by uploading her photographs to Facebook.
Additionally, the notice points out that in her post, Tanjin Tisha wrote, "Why do these two look the same? Why do these two sisters harbor such hatred?" In reality, they are not sisters. Tanjin Tisha has been misrepresenting Sanaya Anam across social media and other platforms by falsely claiming she is the sister of another individual. In truth, Sanaya Anam is a fashion designer, while the other person is a female entrepreneur; they are merely acquaintances.
Tanjin Tisha is leveraging this connection in a negative manner to defame Sanaya Anam. Moreover, the notice highlights that Tanjin Tisha included photographs of two minors in her post without obtaining the necessary consent—a clear violation of cyber security laws. Tanzin Tisha has been instructed to remove all photos and posts concerning Sanaya Anam from her verified Facebook page within two days of receiving the legal notice. She has also been directed to refrain from posting any further images of Sanaya Anam on her Facebook page.
The legal notice further states that, should she fail to comply, legal action—including claims for financial damages—will be pursued against Tanzin Tisha in the appropriate forum, such as a Cyber Tribunal or any other competent court.
