Nazda Alam Foundation of Boston to Host Women’s Empowerment Fundraiser on October 25
Staff Reporter: The Boston-based nonprofit Nazda Alam Foundation (NAF) is set to host its annual fundraising event on Saturday, October 25, 2025, to promote the participation of Muslim women in local and global social and political arenas. The fundraiser will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Islamic Center of Boston (126 Boston Post Road, Wayland, MA 01778).
The event will highlight the foundation’s mission and activities, which include advancing civic engagement, education, and justice; organizing voter awareness sessions; leading community-based outreach campaigns; and producing educational documentaries on global crises.
Nazda Alam, the foundation’s founder and president, will deliver the opening remarks. Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan will receive a special award, followed by a keynote address from Vermont State Senator Kesha Ram Hinsdale.
This year’s featured speaker will be Eva Millona, an immigration attorney who served as Assistant Secretary for Partnership and Engagement and Chief of the Office of Citizenship at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under the Biden-Harris administration (2021–2025). Prior to that, she was the President and CEO of MIRA (Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition) and co-founder of the National Partnership for New Americans. Her leadership and advocacy for immigrant women and civic engagement have inspired communities across the United States.
The evening will celebrate the foundation’s achievements, followed by dinner and a photo session to conclude the event.
Congresswoman Katherine Clark has already pledged $500 in sponsorship to support the foundation’s women’s empowerment initiatives. Her contribution will allow ten young men and women from the Boston area to attend the gala, giving future leaders the opportunity to gain inspiration from the experience.
In addition, former DNC Chair Steve Grossman and Senator Ed Markey have each contributed $500 to sponsor the NAF Gala 2025 and the foundation’s ongoing programs focused on women’s and youth development.

The Nazda Alam Foundation continues to empower Muslim women across the United States through voter registration drives, immigration and legal awareness sessions, and efforts to increase participation in the census and local elections. The foundation is also active in global human rights advocacy—most notably through its acclaimed documentary “Rohingya: Violence Against Women.” The organization has pledged to continue producing similar educational documentaries in the future.
Foundation leaders expressed hope that this year’s fundraiser will serve as an inspiring gathering for leaders, activists, and community members committed to justice, equality, and human dignity.
