BanglaPress Desk: Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has remarked that the results of the United States midterm elections will not bring about any fundamental change in the relationship between Washington and Tehran. He warned that even if there is a shift in power between political parties in the U.S., the country’s hostility toward Iran will not come to an end.
In a statement reported by Iran’s state news agency, IRNA, Mojtaba Khamenei asserted that a "change of parties" in U.S. politics would not deter Washington from its continued animosity toward the Iranian people.
He further stated that the United States seeks the "unconditional surrender" of the Iranian nation. The Supreme Leader claimed that the U.S. has suffered an irreparable decline, following scandals of its own making. Referring to the prospect of a war by the U.S. and Israel against Iran, he suggested that the process of America’s decline has only accelerated.
Iranian leaders are interpreting the significant gains made by the Democrats in the U.S. midterm elections as a victory for Tehran over the Trump administration.
