11th BAPA FoodPro Expo begins in Dhaka on Thursday

Bangla Press Desk:  The 11th BAPA FoodPro International Expo 2026 is set to begin on Thursday at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital and will run through 12 September.

The exhibition is focused on food processing and packaging technologies. It will be open to visitors from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on 10 and 11 September and from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm on 12 September. Organisers expect more than 200 brands from 27 countries and over 24,000 visitors over the three days.

The Bangladesh Agro-Processors' Association (BAPA) and Rainbow Exhibition and Event Management Services (REEMS) are jointly organising the event.

Details were shared at a press conference Tuesday at BAPA's office in Sobhanbagh, attended by BAPA President Mahbub Anam, General Secretary Syed Muhammad Shoaib Hasan, Expo Organizing Committee Chairman and PRAN-RFL Group CEO Ahsan Khan Chowdhury and BAPA Treasurer Minhaj Ahmed.

Participating companies will showcase technologies in processing, filling, packaging, coding and marking, labelling, quality inspection, warehousing, cold chain and logistics.

They will also emphasise on AI-powered automation, machine vision, robotics, smart factory systems, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and sustainable packaging. 

More than 4,000 technology and machinery-based solutions will be presented, alongside technical sessions, seminars and practical activities.

Participating countries include Algeria, Australia, Bangladesh, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States. 

More than 100 expert speakers and industry leaders will take part in regional conferences and seminars during the event.BAPA President Mahbub Anam said adopting modern technology is essential for advancing Bangladesh's agro-processing and food-processing sectors, adding that the exhibition would introduce entrepreneurs to new technologies and support investment, production and export growth.

Ahsan Khan Chowdhury said current business uncertainties are pushing industrial enterprises to accelerate their technological development and that the expo would connect companies with the technologies, partners and industry insights needed to improve efficiency and build sustainable operations across the value chain.

The Food Ingredients Bangladesh Expo 2026 will be held at the same venue, featuring functional foods and beverages, nutraceuticals, alternative proteins, plant-based formulations and sustainable food ingredients. 

Other features of the exhibition include the Session Stage, FP Gourmet, Drinksphere, the Global Food Security and Technology Forum, and the Creative Design Village.
