25 Bangladesh Recruiting Agencies Get Green Light for Malaysia

Bangla Press Desk:  Malaysia’s Foreign Workers Centralized Management System (FWCMS) has published a list of 25 agencies approved to recruit workers from Bangladesh for jobs in the country.

A section of leaders from the Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies had been demanding that the Malaysian labour market remain open to all the country's recruiting agencies.

However, on Friday, FWCMS listed the names of 25 recruiting agencies in Bangladesh and published them on its website.

The agencies on the list are Bangladesh One Overseas Limited, Bengal Human Resources Development, General Trading Company, M/S United Gulf Services, Annesa Air International, Att-Taqwa Overseas Limited, Earth-Smart Bangladesh Ltd, Khan Jahan Ali Overseas, M/S Al-Shupto Overseas, Motherland Overseas Ltd, Rifa International, Vely Trade International, A-Plus International, Al-Hayat Overseas, Bhaluka Overseas, Brothers Trading & Contracting Ltd, Chandpur International, Country Employment Agency, Goodness Services Limited, Jewel Rinku Enterprise, M/S Satkhira International, Mangrove Career Link, Neighbour Associates Ltd, Tania Trade International, and The Anchor Care Global Migration.

On May 31, 2024, Malaysia suspended new recruitment of foreign workers from Bangladesh and several other countries. Workers who failed to enter Malaysia within the stipulated deadline had their recruitment approvals cancelled.

After that, despite repeated attempts, Malaysia would not reopen its labour market.

When the interim government took office after the fall of the Awami League government on Aug 5, 2024, it attempted to break the stalemate. It was unsuccessful.

Finally, Tarique Rahman went to Malaysia on his first foreign trip after taking office as prime minister. Since then, discussions have been ongoing to reopen the labour market.

Although the list of recruitment agencies has been published, it remains unclear which process will be used to send workers from Bangladesh to Malaysia, when recruitment will start, or how these agencies were selected.
