5 Bangladeshis killed in road accident in Qatar, Jamaat mourns
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar has expressed deep shock and condolences over the death of five expatriate Bangladeshis from Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet in a road accident in Sanaiya area of Qatar.
In a statement on Sunday (June 21), he said that six people, including five Bangladeshis, were killed in the accident at around 12 noon local time in Qatar.
Describing the incident as 'tragic and heartbreaking', he prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of the deceased and expressed his condolences to their family members.
The statement said that all the five deceased Bangladeshis were residents of Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet. They are Mostaq Ahmed (30), Zubair Ahmed (30), Jasim Uddin (30), Jibal Ahmed (36) and Qadir Ahmed (24).
Golam Parwar said that these expatriates were making an important contribution to the national economy and the financial development of their families by sending the money they earned through their hard work back home.
Their deaths have caused irreparable loss to their families. He urged the government authorities concerned to quickly repatriate the bodies of the deceased and also demanded that necessary financial assistance be provided to the affected families.
