Advisory council not supportive of white paper
Bangla Press Desk: Economist Debapriya Bhattacharya on Wednesday said that in the case of the white paper, he did not see the enthusiasm from the advisory council that he had expected from the chief adviser.
He added that civil servants and officials were even less motivated, which he saw as a challenge. He made the remarks to reporters after a citizens’ dialogue held at a hotel conference hall in Barishal city.
Bhattacharya said, “For this reason, I feel that the unfinished reforms should be included in the election manifesto.
During the remaining time of the government, it is possible to implement some measures transparently through executive orders without breaching the constitution.
In the future, everyone will be able to track the progress of these reforms digitally on a dedicated website. We plan to present this publicly next month.”
The dialogue saw participation from various political, social, and student representatives, including BASAD leader Monisha Chakraborty, NCP leader Abu Said Musa, and Jamaat city chief Zahid Uddin Muhammad Babar.
