CNG station closure hours extended
Bangla Press Desk: The government has revised the operating hours of CNG filling stations to ensure uninterrupted gas supply during the holy month of Ramadan.
A notification issued on Friday (20 February) by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources said the measure aims to ease low pressure in the gas distribution network and meet increased demand for electricity generation.Under the new directive, CNG stations nationwide will remain closed daily from 3:00pm to 9:00pm until 14 March, extending the previous three-hour closure (6:00pm to 9:00pm) to six hours. However, to facilitate smooth travel during Eid-ul-Fitr, CNG and fuel stations will operate round-the-clock from 15 March to 25 March. From 26 March, stations will return to the earlier 6:00pm to 9:00pm closure schedule.
Officials expect the move to stabilise gas supply for power generation during Ramadan and avert fuel shortages during the Eid rush.
