Bangla Press Desk: National Parliament Deputy Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal has stressed the importance of exchanging experiences to strengthen the longstanding friendly relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom and expand mutual cooperation in education and other sectors.
He expressed particular interest in exchanging experiences and working jointly with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in the UK.
Kamal made the remarks during a courtesy meeting with Tower Hamlets Speaker Mostaq Ahmed at the Deputy Speaker’s office in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Thursday (October 15).
During the meeting, both sides expressed optimism about strengthening bilateral relations, exchanging experiences across various sectors and expanding cooperation on matters of mutual interest.
The Deputy Speaker said Bangladesh and the UK have maintained friendly relations for a long time. He noted that a significant number of Bangladeshis live in Tower Hamlets and emphasised the importance of continued cooperation for the welfare of people in both countries.
He also expressed hope for expanding collaboration in education and other fields.
Speaker Mostaq Ahmed highlighted the strong relations between Bangladesh and the UK, saying that mutual cooperation and the exchange of experiences would further strengthen the existing bonds between the peoples of the two countries.
Two representatives from Tower Hamlets were also present at the meeting.
