Dhaka University sets up committee for Amar Ekushey observance

Bangla Press Desk: Dhaka University (DU) has formed a Central Coordination Committee to observe Amar Ekushey February, marking Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, with due dignity and solemnity.

A preparatory meeting of the committee was held on Thursday at the Prof Abdul Matin Chowdhury Virtual Classroom, where overall activities and preparations for the observance were discussed.The meeting was chaired by the Coordinator of the Committee and Prof of the Marketing Department Md Morshed Hasan Khan. Joint Coordinator and Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof Abdus Salam, Member-Secretary and Proctor Prof Saifuddin Ahmed, Acting registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed, along with conveners and member-secretaries of various sub-committees, were present.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the steps taken by the central committee and its sub-committees to ensure that Amar Ekushey is observed in a fair, orderly and peaceful manner.

Satisfaction was expressed over the overall progress and preparedness.

The meeting urged all concerned to observe the Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day with due respect and solemnity.

It also called for all-out cooperation to ensure the successful and disciplined implementation of the programmes, upholding the prestige of Dhaka University.  Source: daily Sun
