Embassy issues warning to US visa applicants
Bangla Press Desk: The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka has adopted a stricter stance regarding compliance with visa terms and conditions for travel to the United States. If a foreign national traveling to the U.S. accepts any form of government financial assistance or grants to cover medical expenses, it will be considered a misuse of their visa. Such an action could even result in the individual becoming permanently ineligible or barred from entering the United States in the future.
This information was shared in a special advisory posted on the U.S. Embassy’s verified Facebook page on Saturday (November 7).
The Embassy has reminded travelers that they are solely responsible for the proper use of their visas and for adhering to all associated terms and conditions. Travelers are advised to thoroughly familiarize themselves with the relevant rules and regulations before planning their trip.
In a previous statement issued on October 31, the Embassy emphasized that travelers must depart the United States by the "Admit Until Date" specified in their passports. Individuals are encouraged to verify their permitted duration of stay by visiting the website: i94.cbp.dhs.gov.
Furthermore, a notice issued on October 28 clarified that a standard B1/B2 visitor visa is intended solely for activities such as business meetings, conferences, or contract discussions. Engaging in permanent employment or any form of work within the United States requires a completely different category of visa.
The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka urges all those planning to travel to the United States to strictly follow these regulations.
