Gold prices cut by Tk6,590 per bhori; Silver unchanged
Bangla Press Desk: Gold prices in Bangladesh have been reduced by Tk6,590 per bhori, with the rate of 22-carat gold now set at Tk234,855, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
In a statement issued on Friday morning, BAJUS said the adjustment was made in line with prevailing market conditions, particularly a decline in the price of pure (tejabi) gold in the local marcket.The revised rates came into effect from 10:00am the same day.
Under the new pricing structure, 22-carat gold is being sold at Tk234,855 per bhori (11.664 grams), while 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk224,182 per bhori.
The price of 18-carat gold now stands at Tk192,164 per bhori, and gold produced under the traditional method is priced at Tk156,473 per bhori.
Earlier, on 25 March, BAJUS had reduced gold prices by Tk5,482 per bhori, setting the rate of 22-carat gold at Tk241,445.
So far in 2026, gold prices have been adjusted 47 times, including 26 increases and 21 reductions.
Despite the latest cut in gold prices, silver rates remain unchanged. Currently, 22-carat silver is being sold at Tk5,365 per bhori.
The price of 21-carat silver stands at Tk5,132 per bhori, while 18-carat silver is priced at Tk4,432 and traditional method silver at Tk3,324 per bhori.
