Staff Reporter: A New York woman is accused of fraudulently withdrawing approximately $27,000 from various Webster Bank locations across Connecticut several summers ago, according to South Windsor police.
Kimberly A. Maine, 54, of Troy, New York, was arrested Thursday on a warrant. She was charged with first-degree larceny, first-degree identity theft, and payment card theft. According to police, in July 2021 three vehicles were allegedly broken into on Nevers Road Park. A driver’s license and bank card were stolen from a person, and about $27,000 was withdrawn from several Webster Bank locations.
In February 2023, Maine was identified as a suspect after Blackstone, Massachusetts police arrested her for allegedly fraudulently withdrawing money from a bank in their town, police said.
Police allegedly found Maine in possession of several stolen IDs and credit cards, including those of one of the people from the July 2021 South Windsor incident.
Authorities sought an arrest warrant and Maine was extradited from Florida, where she was incarcerated on similar charges, police said.
Maine was held on a $75,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court Thursday morning.
