Official Facebook, Instagram pages of PMO launched

Bangla Press Desk:  As Tarique Rahman begins his journey as Bangladesh’s 11th prime minister, the government has launched official Facebook and Instagram pages to disseminate information on administrative decisions and development activities.

Pages on the two social media platforms were formally launched on Wednesday (18 February), the first working day of the new government .The Facebook page has been titled “PMO Bangladesh – Prime Minister’s Office,” while the Instagram handle is “pmo.bd.”

Authorities said the accounts have already been verified.According to officials, the platforms will be used to ensure transparency and prevent the spread of misinformation. Both accounts feature the same profile image, displaying a photograph of the prime minister.

Since their launch, the pages have been publishing updates on government decisions, official notifications, and the prime minister’s daily state engagements.

Earlier on Tuesday (17 February), newly elected members of parliament took oath at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

Later in the afternoon, members of the new cabinet were sworn in at an open ceremony at the South Plaza of the parliament complex.
