Sajib Ahmed elected director of FERB
Bangla Press Desk: Sajib Ahmed, Senior Reporter at Kaler Kantho, has been elected Director (Data Bank) in the biennial election of the Forum for Energy Reporters Bangladesh (FERB), an organisation representing energy journalists in the country.
M Azizur Rahman Ripon, Special Correspondent of The Financial Express, was elected Chairman, while Serajul Islam Siraj, Chief Reporter of Barta24.com, was elected Executive Director.
The election was held on Sunday following the general meeting at Bijoy Hall, Bidyut Bhaban in the capital.
Other members elected to the nine-member Executive Committee are – Hasan Azad, Senior Reporter of Daily Kalbela, as Vice Chairman; Fazle Rabbi, Special Correspondent of Chorcha, as Director (Development and Finance); Abu Taher, Deputy Chief Reporter of Bonik Barta, as Director (Research and Training); Atikur Rahman Faisal, Senior Reporter of Ajker Patrika, as Director (Entertainment and Welfare); and Jannatul Ferdousi Shova, Senior Reporter of Deshkal News, along with Mahbub Roni, Senior Reporter of The Daily Ittefaq, as Executive Members.
The election was conducted by Chief Election Commissioner Saiful Hasan Chowdhury, former Director of the Public Relations Department of the Bangladesh Power Development Board. The Election Commissioners were Shamim Hasan, current Director of the same department, and Tarikul Islam Khan, Deputy General Manager of Petrobangla.
Prior to the election, the biennial general meeting was held with FERB Chairman Shamim Jahangir in the chair.
