Senior UP Bangladesh Leaders Defect to NCP

Bangla Press Desk:   Nearly 50 leaders and activists from different political and social platforms, including top leaders of UP Bangladesh, have joined the National Citizen Party (NCP).

Those joining the party include UP Bangladesh Convener Ali Ahsan Junaid and Chief Coordinator Rafe Salman Rifat. The joining ceremony was held on Sunday afternoon at the NCP central office in Banglamotor.NCP Convener Nahid Islam, Spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, and several other senior leaders were present at the event.

Speaking to the media, Rifat said that at least 36 members, including the convener and top leadership of their party, have joined NCP.

He also said that everyone who joined NCP from UP Bangladesh had resigned from their previous positions in the platform before joining the new party.

Besides the UP Bangladesh leadership, those who joined NCP also included Anti-Discrimination Student Movement President Rifat Rashid and AB Party leader Barrister Sunny Abdul Haque, along with many other activists.Addressing the event, NCP Convener Nahid Islam said those who joined the party had previously worked toward the same goal from different platforms.
