Sheikh Selim Faces ACC Case Over Tk 363m Asset Anomaly
Bangla Press Desk: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to file a case against former Awami League lawmaker Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim for allegedly possessing around Tk 135.90 million in assets inconsistent with his known sources of income.
The anti-graft watchdog also decided to issue notices requiring his wife and three children to submit statements of their assets after finding discrepancies between their declared income and assets totalling around Tk 227 million.
According to an ACC press release, the commission's special investigation team found around Tk 135.90 million in assets in Sheikh Selim's name that were inconsistent with his known sources of income. The commission decided to bring the case against him under Section 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004.
