Tk50 lakh seized as Thakurgaon Jamaat Ameer held at Syedpur Airport

Bangla Press Desk:  Thakurgaon district Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Belal Uddin was detained at Syedpur Airport while carrying a large sum of money.
He was detained around 12:00pm on Wednesday (11 February).

Acting Officer-in-Charge of Syedpur Police Station Nazmul Alam confirmed the matter.

He said that Belal Uddin was detained with nearly Tk50 lakh, though the exact amount is still being counted.In a video recorded after his detention, Belal Uddin claimed the amount to be approximately Tk60 lakh, describing it as his business earnings.

Belal Uddin is a teacher at Salandar Islamia Kamil Madrasa and resides in the Hajipara area of Thakurgaon town.
