Do not worry about the police or lathi-charges: Rahul Gandhi
BanglaPress Desk: In protest against alleged irregularities in the revision of electoral rolls, the Congress party has called for a ‘Chalo Delhi Ramlila March’ to be held at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on November 1. Party leader Rahul Gandhi has described this initiative as a movement to safeguard democracy, prevent electoral fraud, and protect the Constitution.
In a post on the social media platform X, Rahul stated, “There is no reason to fear police obstruction or lathi-charges. The BJP will not dare to employ such tactics.” Rahul Gandhi emphasized that this march is not for any single political party, but is organized to protect the very soul of India.
He said, “I call upon all those who are aggrieved by Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and Gyanesh Kumar—those who wish to save democracy and protect the Constitution—to come forward.”
Rahul Gandhi asserted that this protest is in the national interest. He urged everyone to join the march and walk together in this movement to defend the Constitution and the Indian state.
He further added, “I appeal to all student organizations—regardless of your political ideology—if you believe that India is under attack, or that your rights, freedom of expression, or ways of thinking are under threat, then join us.” Rahul noted that this march, organized to defend the nation’s soul, will be a significant event.
He expressed his hope to meet everyone there.
