Plan for supplementary examinations for students who have failed in multiple subjects in the HSC examination

BanglaPress Desk: The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has developed a new framework for supplementary examinations for students who failed in three or more subjects in this year’s HSC and equivalent examinations. According to preliminary plans, the examinations are set to begin on December 2, with results expected to be published by December 31.

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, Chairman of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board and President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, confirmed this information on Monday afternoon (November 2).

He stated, "The dates for the supplementary examinations are likely to be finalized tomorrow. We will issue an official notification from the Board on November 4. The plan is to publish the results by December 31. All details will be available in the notification."

Earlier, during the announcement of the HSC results on October 31, Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon had mentioned plans to organize supplementary examinations for students who failed in one or two subjects. He explained that this initiative is intended to prevent students from losing an entire academic year.

This year, the pass rate for the HSC examinations stands at 52.12 percent. A total of 1,240,798 candidates participated under the country’s 11 education boards. Of these, 646,685 students passed, while 594,113 students failed.
