Bangla Press Desk: The government has ordered 49 police inspectors into compulsory retirement after they completed 25 years in service.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued the order on Thursday, before publishing it on its website on Friday.
The officers were retired “in the public interest”, according to the order.
The government invoked Section 45 of the Public Service Act 2018 to make the move.
Under the provision, the government may, if it considers it necessary in the public interest, retire a government employee compulsorily without assigning any reason after the employee has completed 25 years of service.
