  Bangla Press Desk: Police have filed a case against 3,500 unidentified people over yesterday's attack on the shrine of Nurul Haque, widely known locally as "Nural Pagla", in Rajbari's Goaland upazila. The case was filed on Friday night by Goaland Ghat Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Selim Molla as the plaintiff. Goaland Ghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Rakibul Islam confirmed the matter on Saturday morning. He said, “In yesterday’s incident, 10 to 12 of our police personnel were injured. The mob also vandalised two of our vehicles. Following the attack, a case has been filed against 3,000 to 3,500 unidentified individuals. Operations are underway to arrest the accused.”
Rajbari Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Md. Sharif Al Rajib said, “Yesterday an angry mob attacked the Darbar Sharif of Nural Pagla in Goaland. When police moved in to control the situation, they came under attack. At that time, two of our vehicles were also vandalised. A case has been filed at Goaland Ghat Police Station, and raids are underway to arrest the accused.” Meanwhile, after the attack, arson, and the exhumation and burning of Nural Pagla’s body at his shrine in Goaland, the situation has now returned to normal. Additional police have been deployed in front of the shrine, while curious locals have been gathering to witness the aftermath. On Friday (August 5), after Juma prayers, an enraged mob carried out arson and vandalism at Nural Pagla’s shrine in Ward No. 5 of Goaland Municipality, Rajbari. During clashes between the mob and Nural Pagla’s followers, one person was killed and more than a hundred people from both sides were injured. When police tried to bring the situation under control, they were attacked, and their vehicles were vandalized, leaving 10 to 12 officers injured.
