Bangla Press Desk: The High Court (HC) on Sunday issued a rule asking why directives should not be issued to appoint female morgue attendants (doms) to conduct autopsies on the bodies of women.
A High Court division bench of Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Md Ashif Hasan passed the order after holding hearing on a writ petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Md Monir Uddin.
"The court ordered the respondents to reply within next two weeks," Monir, who moved the plea before the court as well, told reporters.On 13 July, the Supreme Court lawyer filed the public interest writ petition before the High Court.
