EC unveils four methods to obtain polling centre info

Bangla Press Desk: To make voting easier in the upcoming National Parliamentary Election and Referendum, the Election Commission (EC) has introduced four simple methods for voters to obtain their voter number and polling centre information.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued on Saturday by EC Public Relations Director Md Ruhul Amin Mallik.

Using these methods, voters can quickly and accurately find details about their voter number and designated polling centre.

Smart Election Management BD App

Voters can obtain their voter number and polling centre information through the Smart Election Management BD app.

To do so, they need to download and install the app from the Play Store or App Store.

After installation, voters should select “13th National Parliamentary Election” from the dashboard and click on the “Find Polling Center” option.

By entering their NID number and date of birth, voters will be able to view their voter number, serial number, polling center name, and address.

Hotline Number 105

Voters from anywhere in the country can call the hotline number 105 to get their voter number and polling centre information.

After dialing, they need to press 9 to speak with an operator. For this service, voters must provide their NID number and date of birth.

The hotline will be operational daily from 6:00am to 12:00am.

SMS Service

Voters can also obtain the information via SMS.

To use this service, they need to go to the message option on their mobile phone, type PC <space> NID number, and send it to 105.

The voter number and polling centre information will be sent back through a return SMS.

EC Website

Voters can also find their voter number and polling centre information through the EC’s website.

By visiting ecs.gov.bd on any browser and clicking on the “Polling Center” menu, information can be searched in two ways.

First, voters can select the constituency and upazila/thana to view a list of polling centres.

Second, by entering the NID number and date of birth, voters can directly access their voter number and polling centre details.

The website also provides the option to view the polling center location on Google Maps.

The 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum are scheduled to be held on 12 February.
