Hadi Murder Case Probe Report Delayed Once More
Bangla Press Desk: A Dhaka court on Sunday set 15 July for submitting the probe report in the murder case of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, marking the 17th deferment of the report.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam set the new date after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) failed to submit the report within the scheduled date.
On 12 December 2025, Hadi, an independent candidate from the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot in Dhaka’s Paltan area. He died on 18 December while receiving treatment in Singapore.
On 14 December, Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Moncho, filed an attempted murder case with Paltan Model Police Station over the incident which later turned into a murder case after the death of Hadi.
Later, on 6 January, DB Inspector Faisal Ahmed, the investigation officer in the case, submitted a charge sheet against the 17 accused.
However, on 15 January, the plaintiff filed a no-confidence (naraji) petition stating that the charge sheet skipped the main planners behind the killing.
Subsequently, the court directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate the case. Source: daily Sun
