Routine Maintenance Work Starts at Karnaphuli Tunnel

Bangla Press Desk:   CHATTOGRAM, June 22: Maintenance work on the Karnaphuli Tunnel, located beneath the Karnaphuli River in the port city of Chattogram, began on Monday and will continue until June 28.

During the maintenance period, vehicular movement through the tunnel will be regulated every night from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am.

According to officials, the scheduled work includes cleaning of jet fans and repainting road markings inside the tunnel.

During the maintenance hours, traffic from the Patenga-to-Anwara tube will be diverted in a controlled manner through the Anwara-to-Patenga tube.

Authorities said commuters may experience delays of five to 10 minutes at both ends of the tunnel during the temporary traffic management period
