Tahasif Souri murder: Friend Deep placed on 3-day remand again
BanglaPress Desk: A court has granted a second three-day remand for Ahmed Shahriar Reza Deep in connection with the murder case of Tahsif Sauri. The order was issued on Tuesday (November 3) by the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibuzzaman following a hearing.
Earlier, the investigating officer of the case, Inspector Firoz Uddin of the Naval Police’s Tongi outpost, had requested a second round of remand for Deep. In his application, he noted that during the initial remand, Deep provided several significant pieces of information regarding the incident, which are currently being verified. However, as the accused is highly cunning, he skillfully evaded answering various questions and often remained silent. Consequently, further remand is necessary for intensive interrogation.
Following his arrest, Deep was initially placed on a four-day remand last Saturday. A young woman named Disha—who was seen with Deep at 'Nest Bar' and was also arrested in connection with the case—is currently serving a four-day remand, which was granted by the court last Sunday.
According to the case details, Tahsif went missing on the evening of October 27 after leaving his home at the request of Deep. The following afternoon, his body was recovered by the Naval Police from the Rajabari Ghat area along the Turag River.
Following Tahsif’s death, his father, K. M. Enayetul Karim, filed a murder case at the capital’s Uttarkhan Police Station last Friday night, naming unidentified individuals as the accused.
