Bangla Press Desk: Gono Odhikar Parishad General Secretary Rashed Khan has criticised the interim government’s advisory council, accusing it of perpetuating inequality while pursuing international recognition.
In a Facebook post on Monday, Rashed slammed the decision to include representatives from three political parties in Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus’s ongoing visit to the United Nations General Assembly. According to him, the move was made primarily for the advisers’ own protection rather than necessity.
“Interim government advisers have taken three political party representatives to the UN for their own protection. Otherwise, the politicians have no role there. Naturally, Awami League activists will demonstrate, perhaps even heckle or harass the advisers. To counter this, BNP-Jamaat activists have already taken to the streets with banners, while Awami League supporters are also present,” he wrote.
He further argued that if no political representatives had accompanied the delegation, opposition activists would not have mobilised abroad. “Whatever the advisers claim, their survival still depends on the backing of political parties,” he added.
