Doa mahfil held in B’baria seeking eternal peace for Khaleda Zia
Bangla Press Desk: A doa mahfil was organised by Binauti Union BNP in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria to pray for the eternal peace of former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The programme drew leaders and activists from all levels of the party, reflecting the enduring influence of Khaleda Zia’s political legacy and her memory among BNP members.
The programme’s chief guest, Brahmanbaria-4 (Kasba–Akhaura) BNP candidate Kabir Ahmed Bhuiya, said, “Begum Khaleda Zia’s remarkable political life, people-centric work, and courageous leadership will inspire Bangladesh’s reconstruction. She was an unwavering voice for democracy, and her patriotism will guide future generations.”
The event was presided over by Binauti Union BNP vice-president Hariz member. Bir Muktijoddha Engineer Muslem Uddin attended as a special guest, recalling Khaleda Zia’s patriotism and humanitarian contributions.
Advocate Fakhruddin Ahmed Khan, president of Kasba Upazila BNP, said, “Khaleda Zia was not just a political figure; she was a fearless face of the struggle against autocracy.”
Kasba Upazila BNP general secretary Shariful Haque Swapon, speaking as the main speaker, said, “Reviving the organisation in the ideals of leader Khaleda Zia is our solemn pledge today.”
In her speech, Brahmanbaria district Mahila BNP president Advocate Ismatara Sultana emphasised Khaleda Zia’s role in empowering women politically.
The programme was attended by leaders of Kasba Upazila and Kasba Municipality BNP, including Shariful Islam Bhuiya, Ayum Khan, Md Kamal Uddin, Bashir Chowdhury, Abdul Awal, Suman Chowdhury, Monir Member, Mokhlesur Rahman, Selim Apu and others.
Former and current leaders of Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal, including Mohsin, Mostafa, Rimon Shohag, Saiful Islam, Md Juel, Sirajul Haq Imu, Shimul Mia, Enamul Haq Apel, Ripon Pathan, Shahidul Khan, Abdul Al Manun and Saddam Khondkar, also joined.
The event concluded with a special prayer for the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia.
The Binauti Union programme was more than a memorial -- it was a heartfelt tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia’s struggle-filled political life, a demonstration of BNP’s organisational unity, and a pledge to strengthen future movements.
