Nikki Glaser intense satire CBS News, Epstein jokes during Golden Globes

Ema Alice: Nikki Glaser was cracking jokes about CBS News and the Epstein files within moments of taking the stage for her Golden Globes monologue.

“There’s so many A-listers,” Glaser told the audience Sunday at the awards show in Los Angeles.

“And by A-listers, I do mean people who are on a list that has been heavily redacted,” the comedian said, without specifically mentioning the files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“And the Golden Globe for Best Editing goes to: the Justice Department,” Glaser quipped.

“Yes, congratulations,” the 41-year-old comic exclaimed.

Last month, at least 16 files on the Department of Justice’s webpage that contained files on Epstein were reportedly found to have disappeared from its website, according to The Associated Press. One of the files reportedly contained a photo featuring snapshots of President Trump.

Despite the Golden Globes airing on CBS, Glaser took a dig at the network’s news division.

CBS News’s editor-in-chief, Bari Weiss, ignited widespread backlash last month for pulling a “60 Minutes” segment that was critical of the Trump administration. Weiss had said the segment was not ready for broadcast.

New “CBS Evening News” anchor Tony Dokoupil also faced criticism this week after ending the nightly newscast with a “salute” to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

“And the award for Most Editing goes to CBS News,” Glaser said to laughs.

“Yes, CBS News: America’s newest place to see BS news,” Glaser said.
