West Bengal Awaits ‘New Beginning’ as BJP Prepares May 9 Swearing-In

Bangla Press Desk:  India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to take oath to form the government in West Bengal on May 9, according to NDTV, citing sources involved in the process.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to coincide with Rabindra Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, a date party insiders say is being chosen to underscore a symbolic new chapter for the state, the report said on Wednesday.

The BJP’s West Bengal unit President Samik Bhattacharya confirmed the development.

“The oath-taking ceremony of the new chief minister of West Bengal will take place on the 9th of May,” ANI quoted him as saying.
