Argentina's starting XI may change against Austria
Bangla Press Desk: Argentina started their World Cup mission by defeating Algeria with a hat-trick from Lionel Messi. This time, the country's coach Lionel Scaloni is thinking of making changes to the starting XI before taking the field against Austria.
Tomorrow, June 22 (Monday) at 11 pm Bangladesh time, Argentina will face Austria at the Dallas Stadium in the United States. Gonzalo Montiel is the most talked about player before that match. Although he returned to training after recovering from a hamstring injury, there are concerns about his performance against Austria.
According to Argentine media, Nahuel Molina may be seen in defense instead of Montiel. There is also a possibility of changes in the attack.
Nicolas Gonzalez may get a chance to replace Thiego Almada, who was in the starting XI against Algeria. Scaloni is putting him forward against Austria due to his speed, pressing and ability to use space.
Another big change may be in the striker position. The coaching staff is considering starting Julian Alvarez, who has recovered from injury, from the start. In that case, Lautaro Martinez may have to go to the bench.
There is no possibility of any major changes in the team's basic structure. Emiliano Martinez will be in goal. Cristian Romero, Lisandro Martinez and Facundo Medina are almost certain to play in defense. Rodrigo de Paul, Enzo Fernandez and Alexis McAllister will be in midfield. And captain Lionel Messi will be in attack. Source: daily Sun
