Bangladesh set for rare clash against lowest-ranked San Marino
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh’s male football national team will take on San Marino National Football Team in a FIFA Tier-1 international friendly in San Marino on 5 June.
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) announced in a press release on Tuesday that this match will mark Bangladesh’s first-ever match against European opposition and the team’s maiden appearance on European soil. However, it is equally a milestone moment for San Marino, as they will face an Asian national team for the first time in their history.
San Marino, currently ranked 211th and the lowest-placed team in the FIFA rankings, the men’s side will enter as the higher-ranked side (181st) and carrying expectations of a strong showing.
The friendly has been officially confirmed by both federations, with the contest billed as a rare clash bridging two footballing continents.
