Children's author Amirul Islam has passed away.

Bangla Press Desk: Amirul Islam, a children's author and the Head of the Programme Department at Channel i, has passed away after suffering from severe kidney-related complications. *Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'un*.
He died at 1:07 AM on September 11 while on life support at a hospital in the capital. Publisher Moin Mursalin confirmed the news of his death in a Facebook post.
Moin Mursalin stated that the first *Janaza* (funeral prayer) would be held at 1:35 AM on the premises of Channel i, his workplace. Subsequently, his body would be placed at the Bardhaman House premises of the Bangla Academy at 3:00 PM for the public to pay their respects. The second *Janaza* would take place there at 3:30 PM.
Later, the third *Janaza* would be held at the Golartek Eidgah Jame Mosque in Mirpur. Following the funeral prayers, he would be laid to rest in his mother's grave at the Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard.
Amirul Islam was born on April 7, 1964, in Lalbagh, Dhaka. He received the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2006 in recognition of his significant contributions to children's literature. Additionally, he was honored with various prestigious awards and accolades from both home and abroad.
Amirul Islam authored over two hundred books, all of which were dedicated to children's literature. Throughout his long literary career, he wrote stories, rhymes, and various forms of creative works for children.
Alongside his literary pursuits, Amirul Islam was long associated with the media industry. He was serving as the Head of the Programme Department at Channel i at the time of his death.
