Bangla Press Desk: Incidents of attacks, vandalism, and arson occurred during a sidewalk eviction drive in the capital's Mirpur-10 area. During the unrest, a City Corporation vehicle was set ablaze, and a police vehicle was vandalized by street vendors.
Md. Shahidul Islam, the duty officer at Mirpur Model Police Station, confirmed the incident.
Reports indicate that a fire broke out due to an electrical short-circuit while the eviction drive was underway at Mirpur-10. Angered by this, street vendors and sidewalk traders set fire to three City Corporation garbage trucks. They also vandalized an excavator and a police vehicle. Two units from the Fire Service are currently working to bring the fire under control.
