Skilled workforce development must focus on youth aspirations: Mahdi Amin
Bangla Press Desk: Prime Minister’s Adviser and spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office Mahdi Amin has said the government will develop a skilled and competent workforce by addressing the aspirations of young people.
“Empowering the youth means empowering the present government,” he said, adding that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman wanted to build a Bangladesh that nurtured the aspirations of young people and developed them into a skilled and competent workforce.
He said the government also wanted to build a society where young people would develop family education, moral values and social etiquette.
Mahdi Amin made the remarks at a programme organised by Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programs (UCEP) Bangladesh in the capital’s Mirpur, on Wednesday to mark World Youth Skills Day 2026.
He said the prime minister envisioned an education system with stronger coordination between industry and academia, including industry-academia collaboration, to equip young people with the skills and qualifications needed for employment.
