PSG made history by scoring 6 goals and breaking two records.
BanglaPress Desk: PSG secured a victory in the Champions League, setting multiple records along the way. On Tuesday night, they dismantled Villarreal 6-0. This marks their fourth consecutive win as they pursue a third straight title.
The match was effectively over within just 17 minutes, during which PSG found the back of the net four times against the Spanish hosts. João Neves opened the scoring, followed by goals from Désiré Doué and Senny Mayulu. The fourth goal came from Fabián Ruiz, whose powerful strike extended the lead to 4-0. No other team in Champions League history has scored four goals in such a short span of time; the previous record was held by Real Madrid, who scored four times in 20 minutes against Dinamo Zagreb in 2011.
PSG’s fourth goal also set another record: they have now scored 18 goals in their first four matches of a single Champions League season—the highest tally by any team. They netted six goals against Slovan Bratislava, and four each against Manchester City and Barcelona. Furthermore, PSG has become the first team to score four or more goals in four consecutive matches.
Fabián Ruiz added his second goal of the match in the 50th minute, and the sixth goal arrived in the 78th minute, courtesy of 17-year-old defender David Boly. He had made his Champions League debut just four minutes earlier as a substitute, marking his first appearance with a goal. This stands as PSG’s most significant victory in their campaign to defend their title this season.
Before traveling to Spain, PSG faced a test of their squad depth, as four key players were unavailable. Ousmane Dembélé, Marquinhos, and Nuno Mendes were sidelined due to muscle injuries, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia remains out for the long term after suffering a torn knee ligament. Despite these absences, PSG’s momentum remained unbroken—marking their 10th consecutive win across all competitions.
