Bangladesh Women’s Football Teams to receive NSC Awards Wednesday
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh Women’s National Football and Hockey teams have been officially recognized with cash rewards for their remarkable achievements in international competitions this year.
Earlier this year, from June 29 to July 5, the Bangladesh Women’s Football Team took part in the Asian Cup Qualifiers in Myanmar. Displaying outstanding skill and determination, they finished as undefeated group champions, securing their first-ever qualification for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup—a historic milestone for the team and the nation.
In celebration of this unprecedented success, Asif Mahmud Shoaib Bhuiyan, Adviser for Youth and Sports, announced a BDT 50 lakh cash reward on July 7. After nearly three and a half months, the reward will finally be handed over to the team.
Having just returned from two friendly matches in Thailand, the players will receive their awards wednesday morning at the National Sports Council (NSC) meeting hall, presented by the NSC Executive Director.
The BDT 50 lakh reward will be distributed among 31 recipients, including the 23 players of the women’s football team, along with their coaches and support staff.
On Tuesday, NSC Director of Sports Aminul Ehsan sent an official letter to the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) requesting the presence of the federation president, general secretary, five other officials, and all squad members and supporting staff of the Asian Cup qualifying team for the ceremony.
