BCB to investigate Jahanara’s allegation of sexual harassment
Bangla Press Desk: For the past few days, Bangladesh’s cricket community has been abuzz with discussions about the women’s team — particularly regarding allegations of internal syndicates and other controversies. In the midst of this, cricketer Jahanara Alam has accused former women’s team selector Manjurul Islam of sexual harassment. The allegation has sparked widespread criticism and debate.
In response, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced that it has initiated an investigation into Jahanara’s complaint.
Amid the growing controversy, the BCB released a statement at midnight saying that a probe committee has been formed based on Jahanara’s allegation. The committee has been instructed to submit its report within 15 days.
The BCB also stated that further actions will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. During the investigation period, the board urged all parties involved not to make any comments to the media or speculate about the matter.
Although the investigation committee has been formed, the BCB has not yet disclosed the names of those included in it.
