Mahrez finally finds a club.
Bangla Press Desk: Legendary Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez has joined the Qatari club Al-Shamal as a free agent. The 35-year-old footballer had been without a club since his contract with the Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli expired.
He has finally chosen the Qatar Stars League as his new destination.
The club confirmed the news on Wednesday through a statement on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
Welcoming their new star, the statement read: "His left foot has made history, and our goal now is to write the next chapter. Riyad Mahrez in the Al-Shamal jersey."
The former Manchester City star has continued his run of success in Asian football as well; during his three-year stint with Al-Ahli, he won back-to-back AFC Champions League Elite titles in 2025 and 2026.
Prior to this, his trophy cabinet included a historic Premier League title with Leicester City, along with four Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League trophy won with Manchester City.
